Me and my husband were out going around to a few garage sales this weekend when we came across an old wine making kit. My husband really flipped out. I thought we’d be toting that stupid thing home with us by the end of our conversation but eventually he started to see my reasoning. “We can’t just buy two barrels and assume we know how to make wine!?!?”. After explaining to him that searching Amazon and finding a good book on wine making (and apparently grape growing now after a longer conversation before bed) would be a better alternative to just buying two giant barrels we had no idea what to do with.
I did a bit of research this morning and found the perfect book: Making Your Own Wine: What it’s Really Like to Start, Run and Profitably Sell a Winery. Why such an extensive book you might ask for just a few batches of home brew? I considered this book or a simple how to instruction manual type book. Both are about the same length but this one sounded considerably more enjoyable to read. Why not learn through the eyes of someone who has already done it rather than a manual which is only going to give you a step-by-step chemical formula? So all in all I am excited to read this book and I think a few of you readers might enjoy taking a step back from the daily grind to read something not only educational but entertaining as well.
